JOHN JACOB ASTOR MUSGROVE

Funeral services for John Jacob Astor “Jake” Musgrove are scheduled for 11 a.m.
Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at the Chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Bro. Tim Post
officiating. Interment will follow in the Musgrove Cemetery under the direction of
Golden Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Monday at
Golden Funeral Home.

Mr. Musgrove was born August 10, 1916 and passed away Saturday, January 17, 2015 at
the age of 98. He was a member of Union Primitive Baptist Church of Marion, LA and
loved gardening, hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his sons, Charles Musgrove and wife Betty of Swartz, LA, Steven
“Butch” Musgrove and wife Dottie of Bastrop, LA; daughter, Sue McCready and husband
Arnold of Bastrop, LA; grandchildren, Greg Musgrove and fiancée Terri, Tim Musgrove
and fiancée Melissa, Todd Musgrove and fiancée Dana all of Bastrop, LA, Lori Couture
and husband Ken of Las Vegas, NV, Meredith Jones of Marion, LA, Michelle Trippe and
husband Casey of Swartz, LA, Tracy McCready and wife Kristy of Choudrant, LA,
Natanya Shumaker and husband Gerry of Huntsville, AL, Marissa McCready of Olive
Branch, MS, Brittany Priscilla McCready of Bastrop, LA, Jessica Musgrove of Fort
Worth, TX; great grandchildren, Marrah Jones and Chandler Jones both of Swartz, LA,
Kayla Landry and husband Seth of Bossier City, LA, Krista Musgrove and fiancé Todd
Murry of Shreveport, LA, Mariah Stephenson and husband Bubba of Bastrop, LA, Chesney
Musgrove and fiance' Josh Marquis of Dallas, TX, Hunter Musgrove of Wellsboro, PA,
Cody Tomboli of Las Vegas, NV, Nikki Tomboli of Baton Rouge, LA, Jesse McCready,
Jacob McCready, and Justin McCready all of Choudrant, LA; Cody Shumaker, Caleb
Shumaker of Jackson, MS, ; great great grandchildren, Kendall Stephenson of Bastrop,
LA, Nora Landry of Bossier City, LA and good friend, Vivian Mann.

Mr. Musgrove is preceded in death by his wife, Zola Mae Jackson Musgrove; sons,
Philip Eugene Musgrove, Vince Musgrove; parents, Ezell and Mary Catherine Edwards
Musgrove; brothers, Mark Musgrove and wife Inez Pettis Musgrove, Bill Musgrove and
wife Azeal Porter Musgrove, Tom Musgrove and wife Jewel Thompson Musgrove, George
Musgrove and wife Mae Thompson Musgrove; sisters, Pearline Musgrove Mardis and
husband George, Geneva Musgrove Pettis and husband Homer and Genova Musgrove Frey.

Serving as pallbearers are: Tim Musgrove, Todd Musgrove, Greg Musgrove, Tracy
McCready, Chandler Jones, Hunter Musgrove and Cody Tomboli.

Honorary pallbearers are: Justin McCready, Jacob McCready, Jessie McCready, Eugene
Mardis, Bubbie Pettis, Juan Musgrove, William Don Musgrove, Julian Musgrove, Thomas
“Brother” Musgrove, Sam Musgrove, Jerry Mardis and Barry Jackson.

The family would like to extend their deepest thanks to Mr. Jake's niece, Margie
Nell Pettis, for her loving care of Mr. Musgrove.
