A time of visitation will be held from 10 AM until 11AM on Friday, November 28, 2025 at Harvest Assembly of God Church in Oak Grove, Louisiana. Lavonda Nell McPherson Myers, 78, of Lake Providence, Louisiana, passed peacefully on November 22, 2025. Born on August 2, 1947 to the late G.W. and Virginia McPherson, Lavonda spent her life rooted in faith, family, and service to others. For nearly 60 years, she shared a devoted marriage with her husband and best friend, Jimmy Mack Myers, whom she leaves behind. Lavonda was the proud mother of Lori Taylor and her husband Jeffery of Bovina, Mississippi, and Macky Myers and his wife Erin of Natchez, Mississippi. She cherished her grandchildren - Scott Taylor, Rachel Taylor Montalbano and her husband Vincent, Catherine Myers Oswalt and her husband Colt, and Rebecca Myers Wheeler and her husband Tyler. And, last but not least, the lights of her life, her ten great grandchildren. She was also one of five sisters - Jo Ann Carroll of Dallas, Texas, Brenda Walters of Lake Providence, Louisiana, Kathy Mills of Lake Providence, Louisiana, and the late Bethel Faye Mathews who we know greeted her in Heaven. Even in her passing, she brings us back together at the Thanksgiving table, reminding us that love can be handed down and shared for generations, just like her Peaches and Cream recipe. Known for her servant's heart, Lavonda lived a life defined by kindness, humility, and care. Her gentle strength, steady faith, and deep love for her family will remain an enduring legacy. Pallbearers will be Scott Taylor, Connor Mathews, Houston Mathews, Hunter Ross, Mathew Ross, and Colt Oswalt.
