The Rev. W. J. Hardy will be delivering the eulogy. Mr. Leopold died on Thursday, Dec. 4, 2003 at the Cornerstone Rehabilitation Hospital in West Monroe following a lengthy illness. Mr. Leopold was a life long farmer raising livestock in Jones. He was employed with Georgia Pacific Paper Mill in Crossett, Ark. retiring after 37 years of service. He was born in Mer Rouge . Years later he moved to Jones spending his later years in Bastrop. Mr. Leopold attended Green Grove Baptist Church in Jones. He later moved his membership to Cherry Hill #2 in Mer Rouge. He was preceded in death by his parents, A.P. Leopold and Mary Barber; one brother, Farmer Leopold and one sister, Ruby Leopold McCain. Onzie leaves to cherish his memory a wife, Mrs. Naomi Shelton of Denver, Colo.; a sister, Mrs. Ora Lee Grant of Rivera Beach, Fla., eight sons, Dawain Norwood of Bastrop, Ernest Leopold (Lyneth) of Bastrop, Onzie Leopold Jr. (Stacey) of Bastrop, Steven Leopold, Delerence Leopold (Tara) and Marcus Leopold all of Denver, Colo., Promise Ray McClendon and Lee Ernest of New York; nine daughters, Debra Hutchins of Portland, Ore., Sandra Thomas (Samuel), Barbara Amed both of Denver, Colo., LaRhonda Grisby (Ronnie), Cheryl Palmer (James), Laonza Latting, Brenda Latting, all of Bastrop, Carlessia Miles and Uelene Miles of Houston; a sister-in-law, Mary Leopold of Bastrop; a stepmother Lenora Leopold of Detroit, Mich.; two stepbrothers, Timothy and Hollis Key of Los Angeles, Calif.; two stepsons, Roger Shelton (Kelly) and Terry Shelton of Denver, Colo. Flowers, cards and memorials may be sent to Tennant Funeral Home, 116 Harrsion St., Rayville, La., 71269. Dinner will be served to the family at Ivory Chapel following the interment at H.V. Adams Cemetery.
