He passed away peacefully on the evening of October 23, 2025 at Lagniappe Healthcare in Bastrop, Louisiana. Along with his parents Mr. Northcutt is preceded in death by three sisters, Betty Jean Warren, Kathy Rayford, and Connie Northcutt. Richard was an active and devoted member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Bastrop and a retired Woodyard Foreman for International Paper Company. He enjoyed hunting and spending time in the outdoors especially time in his garden receiving great pleasure sharing the bounty of his gardens with family and friends. Richard was active with and attended numerous Christian Men's Retreats enjoying in the fellowship and sharing of his faith with his brothers in Christ. Mr. Northcutt is survived by his wife of 47 years, Debbie Northcutt; their four children, Melody Coker and husband Patrick, Erin Terrell and husband Matthew, Kristin Thomas and husband Thad, and Michael Northcutt and wife April; and bonus son Joey McGee. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, Chase Coker, Clayton Edmonson, Jaina Edmonson, Isabella Thomas, Ben Thomas, Joseph Northcutt, Liam Northcutt, and Ashton Northcutt; two sisters, Jeanette Rehm and husband Larry, and Christine SanJuan and husband Rafael; and numerous nieces and nephews. A time of visitation with the family will begin at 1:00 PM Monday, October 27, 2025 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church followed by a Rosary at 2;30 PM and a Mass of Christian Burial at 3:00 PM at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Bastrop, Louisiana with Father Tim Hurd officiating. Committal services and interment will be at St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery under the direction of Cox Funeral Home of Bastrop. Serving as pallbearers for Mr. Northcutt are David Swanner, Glen Hendrix, Robert Sanders, Daniel Trejo, Tim Stack, and Gene Spence. Honorary pallbearers are Marc Vereen, Norman Cantrelle, Ernest Floyd, Alex Bertagnollli, Peter Bertagnolli, and Jonathan Hendrix.
