She died peacefully at her home on Thursday, November 13, 2025, surrounded by her three children. Mrs. Patrick was a 1952 graduate of Mer Rouge High School and worked at the Louisiana Department of Motor Vehicles in Bastrop for 30 years. Many people fondly remember her as the "Drivers License Lady". She was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone who might need assistance, even years after her formal retirement. Mrs. Patrick was a long-time member of the former White Avenue Baptist Church. Miss Helen Ann's three children, five grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren were the most precious people in her life. She also loved and cherished her extended family, always looking out for their well-being. She had many special friends, some of whom she would talk to daily. She will be remembered as a caring, loving individual and will be deeply missed by all. Mrs. Patrick is survived by her son, Charles D. Patrick, Jr. and Karen of Bastrop, LA; daughters Patty Scotto and husband, Vince of Ft. Pierce, FL, Cheryl Shaw and husband Joel of Falmouth, MA; brother, William Roy Shepherd, Jr. and wife Glenda; grandchildren, Patrick Scotto and wife Annie, Elizabeth Scotto, Alexandra Shaw, Sydney Shaw, and Reagan Patrick; great-grandchildren, Adaline Scotto, James Scotto and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles D. Patrick, Sr, parents, William Roy and Lucille Ogden Shepherd and special cousin, William Leroy Hayden. Serving as pallbearers will be Samuel Webb, Bobby Haynes, Carl Patrick, Barry Patrick, Patrick Scotto, Arnold Scotto, Joel Shaw, and Adnrew Pernell. Honorary pallbearer will be Terry Williams. Funeral services for Mrs. Patrick are scheduled for 11:00 AM Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at Bonita Road Baptist Church Mer Rouge Campus with Bro. Tim Post and Bro. Casey Johnson officiating. Interment will follow at Christ Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 PM Tuesday, November 18 at Golden Funeral Home.
