Visitation will be held from 9:00 A.M. until service time. Interment will follow at the Kilbourne Cemetery in Kilbourne, Louisiana. Services are under direction of Cox Funeral Home. Charles Wayne Pickett was born on April 1, 1943, in Holly Ridge, Louisiana and passed into eternal life Sunday, November 16, 2025, at the age of 82. He is preceded in death by his wife, Jo Ann Craft Pickett; father, Charles Willis Pickett; mother, Loyzell Griffin Pickett; and bonus son, Jeffrey Daniels. Charles is survived by his son, Ashley Pickett and wife Tina; daughter, April Pickett Simmons and husband Danny; bonus son, Freddie Leckie and wife Sharon; bonus daughter, Tamara Leckie; sister, Pat Montgomery and husband Scotty; brother, Scott Pickett and wife Lou Ann; seven grandchildren, Dillain, Landon, Carson, Amber, Brittany, Jessica, and Jerrid; three bonus grandchildren, Chelsea, Destiny, and Andrew; along with numerous great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Charles was a graduate of Pollock High School, in Pollock, Louisiana. After graduation he attended Louisiana Tech where he received a Bachelor of Business degree. He served in the U.S. Army from 1966-1968, a decorated Vietnam Veteran. He began his business career with a finance company in Lake Providence and Monroe, Louisiana. He managed Goodyear Tire and Appliance store in Monroe, Louisiana and in Center, Texas. When Charles moved back to the Goodwill and Oak Grove area, he went to work at Norred Truck and Tractor, later he worked at Ruffin Building Inc. He was an avid outdoorsman; he loved hunting and fishing in his younger years. He loved watching college sports on tv, especially women's LSU softball, women and men's basketball as well as LSU football. He was an active member of Kilbourne Baptist Church and Truman Smith's Sunday school class. He loved wearing his "Sunday Best" and worshipping with his friends and church family. Pallbearers are Mike Whitney, Danny Creech, Ted McDermott, Milford Fryer, Truman Smith, and Garry Bedenbender. Honorary pallbearers are Mr. Truman Smith's Sunday School Class.
