GLADYS DAWSON PICKREN

Bastrop, Louisiana

Funeral services for Mrs. Gladys "Gaggy" Dawson Pickren, of Mer Rouge, 
Louisiana will be held 1:00PM Monday, December 15, 2008 at the Mer Rouge 
Baptist Church with Rev. Ron Vollmar officiating. Interment will follow at the 
Unity Cemetery under the direction of Cox Funeral Home of Bastrop.

Visitation with the family will be Sunday, December 14th, from 5:00 PM until 
7:00 PM at Cox Funeral Home.

Gladys Dawson Pickren was born July 30, 1921 in Oak Ridge, Louisiana to the 
late Wes and Velma Brice Dawson. She died Friday, December 12, 2008 at St. 
Francis North Hospital in Monroe. Mrs. Pickren was a member of the Mer Rouge 
Baptist Church and a fomer resident of West Carroll Parish. She is preceded in 
death by her parents; her husband, Kelley Pickren; a sister and brother-in-
law, Mildred Dawson Stutts and Floyd Stutts; a brother and sister-in-law, 
William Dawson and wife Lanee Dawson, a brother, Huey Dawson; and step mother, 
Ella Tharp Dawson.

She is survived by her brothers, Doyle Dawson and his wife Belinda, James 
Dawson and his wife Blanche, Charles Dawson and his wife Martha, Henry Dawson; 
a sister, Martha Dawson Paine and her husband Billy; and a host of nieces and 
nephews.

Serving as pallbearers will be Mrs. Pickren's nephews.
Honorary pallbearers will be the Deacons of the Mer Rouge Baptist Church.
