Forrest Post will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, June 10, 2015, at Mt. Union Baptist Church, in Spearsville, Louisiana. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. A time of visitation will be Tuesday, June 9, 2015, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the church. Bro. Forrest, a Southern Baptist minister for almost sixty-five years, passed away Saturday, June 6, 2015, at the Reeves Memorial Medical Center in Bernice at the age of eighty-seven. He was surrounded by his loving family as he entered into the "joy of the Lord." Bro. Post is preceded in death by his parents, J.W. and Odessa Post and a sister Fern Tipton. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of over 70 years, Celeste Nash Post; two daughters, Denise Boatright and husband Buddy, Donna Langley and husband Steve; four sons, Jim Post and wife Carol, Steve Post and wife Angelique, Marc Post, and Tim Post and wife Carmen; 15 grand children, 25 great-grandchildren; and a host of friends and former church members to whom he has faithfully ministered for many, many years. Bro. Forrest was licensed to the Gospel ministry in September 1946 and ordained in December 1947 by the Camp Creek Baptist Church. He was a 1969 graduate of Louisiana Tech University. Bro. Post was the true picture of a servant of God, having faithfully pastored for many, many years. He served as pastor of Mt Sterling Baptist Church, Bernice; Calvary Baptist Church, Jennings; Wayside Baptist Church, Pollock; Corinth Baptist Church, Dubach; Mt. Patrick Baptist Church, Bernice; Mt. Union Baptist Church, Spearsville; and Camp Creek Baptist Church, Spearsville, where he was still a member. His ministry and desire to share the Gospel allowed him to preach many revivals over the years, serve in every capacity available in the Concord/Union Association, be instrumental in obtaining, and serving on the board of directors of, Harris Baptist Encampment in Homer, LA, as well as, serving on numerous committees of the Louisiana Baptist Convention and its Executive Board. He was also graced with the privilege of preaching world-wide as he travelled to South Korea, Africa, and Brazil on numerous mission trips during the course of his ministry. Bro. Forrest was the epitome of a servant of God. He leaves a legacy of devotion and love for the Lord to, not only his family, but to all those who knew and loved him. The family owes a great debt of gratitude to Marc Post, who was more than a son to his father. He was his constant companion and caregiver to the very end, and also to Jennifer Brown, who lovingly cared for Bro. Forrest and allowed him to spend his last years in the comfort of the home he loved. Serving the family as pallbearers will be grandsons, Gregory Post, Josh Post, Casey Jackson, Matt Bowman, Chad Jackson and Jacob Post. He will truly be missed, but Heaven is now an even sweeter place because he now resides with the Savior whom he loved, served and faithfully preached about for so many years. To God be the glory, great things, He has done.
