Allan Eppinette officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Garrett, a member of Harmony Baptist Church, passed away Friday, June 19, 2020 at the age of nineteen. He loved the Lord, going to church and reading his Bible. Garrett was a shoe fanatic, and a hard worker. He loved to race, work on motors and ride ATV’s. Garrett enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching sports, playing sports and was an avid LSU fan. He was an organ donor and will be remembered for his gift of life that he sacrificially gave for others. He is survived by his mother, Rebecca Powell; father, Desmond Trichell, Jr.; grandmothers, Barbara Powell, Earline Trichell; grandfather, Larry Powell; great grandmother, Ann Jackson; brothers, Christopher Powell, Caleb Trichell, Matthew Trichell; cousins, Austin Trichell and wife Jessica, Jamie Freeland and husband Christopher; uncle, Coby Powell and wife Crystal; aunt, Tammy Wilson and numerous other cousins and friends. Garrett is preceded by his papaw, Desmond Trichell, Sr.; great grandfather, Delton “Pops” Jordan, Sr.; granny, Jimmie Jordan; cousin, Joshua Wilson; and great grandmother, “Mamaw Hart”. Serving the family as pallbearers will be Coby Powell, Larry Powell, Austin Trichell, Josh Lebrun, John Montgomery and Harry Gee, Sr. Heavenly pallbearers are Josh Wilson, Desmond Trichell, Sr., Delton Jordan, Sr., Harry Gee, Jr., Frank Brumley, Andy Turnbow and Kenny Taylor. Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 24, 2020 from 5 PM - 7 PM at Golden Funeral Home. Garrett struggled with addiction, he was in the process of active recovery when the battle won against him. We would like everyone to know that his story will always live on through our family and the addiction community. If Garrett could tell addicts one thing today it would be: Please get help....Help is never too far away! If Garrett could tell the family and friends of addicts one thing it would be: Do not judge or give up on your loved ones.....God never gives up on us!
