PRIEST Funeral services for Mrs. Barbara A. Priest are scheduled for 2 PM, Wednesday, February 24, 2016 at the Central Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Britt Dupree and Bro. Phillip McCready officiating. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will take place Tuesday, February 23, 2016, from 6 - 8 PM at Golden Funeral Home. Mrs. Priest, a retired school teacher, passed away Sunday, February 21, 2016, at the age of seventy-four. She is preceded in death by her parents, C.J. and Gertrude Thompson; brother, Lendel Carl Thompson; great-grandson, C.J. Woods; great-granddaughter, Marleigh Jade Bolin; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Johnnie and Hazel Priest. She is survived by her high school sweetheart, and husband of fifty-seven years, Bobby Priest; daughter, Bobbette Janssen and husband David, of Sterlington; son, David Priest and wife Theresa, of Atlanta, TX, sister, Virginia Carver and husband Howard, of Bastrop; brother, Jimmy Dale Thompson and wife Betty Sue, of Atlanta, TX; grandchildren, Nikki and Chris Woods, Hunter and Amber Priest, Jake Bolin and fiancée Kaitlin West, Colton Harris, and Sam Janssen; great-grandchildren, Kamryn, Alexis, Payton, Kaiden, Gavin, and Asher; special daughter, Tami Reynolds; and special grandchildren, Kelbie Bobbette and Ashlie; and special great-grandchildren, Gunner and one on the way. She is also survived by a large number of extended family members. Mrs. Barbara was a member of the Central Missionary Baptist church since she was a young girl. She began her teaching career at the Prep Center and then taught at St. Joseph Catholic School, followed by the Magnet School and then, Pine Grove Elementary, where she completed her teaching career of over thirty-years. In addition to teaching school, she also taught swimming lessons and baton for about thirteen years. Serving the family as pallbearers will be, Hunter Priest, Jake Bolin, Colton Harris, Sam Janssen, David Janssen, Chris Woods, Allen Reynolds, and Chris Harris. Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Samer Roy, Dr. John Coats, and Dr. Don Hammett.
