Funeral services for Mrs. Elmus Glendora Ray, age 92, of Bastrop, will be held 2
PM Tuesday December 16, 2003 at Cox Funeral Home in Bastrop with Rev. James
Andrews officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery under the
direction of Cox Funeral Home of Bastrop. Mrs. Ray was born July 7, 1911 in
Mentor City, Mississippi and died Saturday December 13, 2003 at Morehouse
General Hospital in Bastrop. She was preceded in death by her parents Andrew
Caldwell and Eva Greenlee Carroll. Mrs. Ray is survived by her sister, Elsie
Bailey of Jacksonville, Texas, nephews, Andrew Carroll of West Monroe and Bruce
Carroll of Memphis, Tennessee, a niece, Peggy Hood of Rusk, Texas, 9
grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and 18 great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Andrew Carroll, Steve Books, David Books, Micah Ross,
Clayton Books, Seth Bowden, and Charlie Starr. Honorary pallbearers will be the
residents of the Bond House Apartments. Visitation will be Monday December 15
from 6 PM until 8 PM at the funeral home.
