ROBINSON Funeral services for Ray Robinson, Jr., are scheduled for 10 AM Saturday, December 11, 2021, at Harmony Baptist Church with Rev. Allan Eppinette and Rev. Mike Loveday officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, under the direction of Golden Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Friday, December 10, 2021, from 5 PM - 7 PM at the church. Mr. Robinson, a resident of Bastrop, LA, passed away Tuesday, December 7, 2021, at the age of ninety-four. He was a member of Harmony Baptist Church and retiree of International Paper Company. Mr. Robinson served his community as an Auxiliary Mounted Patrolman for the Morehouse Parish Sheriff’s Office, a past president of the American Legion, and a past president of the Morehouse Rodeo Association. He also served our country in the United States Army. Mr. Robinson is survived by his wife, Margaret Robinson; children, Belinda Hooton and husband Jeff, Chris Robinson, Aubrey Robinson, and Shawn Robinson; thirteen grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; brother, Nathan Brown; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He is preceded in death by his mother, Melissa Brown; father, William Brown; siblings, Voree Townsend, Catherine Roberson, Thomas Brown, Syble Ann Beardslee, and Ross Robinson. Serving as pallbearers will be Mr. Robinson’s grandsons, Jeremy Robinson, Adam Robinson, Collin Robinson, Tyler Robinson, Dylan Robinson, and Hunter Robinson. Honorary pallbearers will be Dwain Jordan, Sonny Hudson, John Carr, Butch Bostick, Charles Jeffers, Junior Jeffers, Jerry Wayne Jeffers, and the Saw Dust Kickers Dance Group.
