Brent Roy Funeral services for E. Brent Roy, 43, of Calhoun, La. will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, June 6, 2008 in the chapel of Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe with Bro. Keith Roberts and Bro. Cal Adams officiating. Interment will follow in Beulah Cemetery, Calhoun. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, June 5, 2008 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe. Brent was born November 8, 1964 in Bastrop and passed away June 2, 2008 in West Monroe. He received a Bachelor Degree from ULM in psychology and attended the accelerated nursing program at NYU, where he received his nursing degree. He practiced at NYU Hospital in the lung and heart unit for several years before returning home. Brent was currently a traveling phlebotomist for Princeton Bio Medical Lab. He was a member of Pi Kappa Alpha and was a semi-professional volleyball player. Brent was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Leslie and Avis Bates; and paternal grandparents, J. C. and Sybil Roy. Brent is survived by his parents, Charles Roy and Sue and Don Lyles; brother, Kregg Roy; friend and sister-in-law, Astrid Roy; niece, Christa Marie Roy; two nephews, David Klaus Karakash and Sven Eric James Roy; step-brothers, Jerry and Marty Lyles; step-sister, Laura Porrus and husband Medards; aunts and uncle, Ann Ellard and Gene and Brenda Bates: cousins, Angie Renee Benson and Travis Wayne Ellard, Jason Todd Bates, and Bryan Eugene Bates; extended members of the Chapman and High and families; and best friend Bernard Greniere. Pallbearers will be Dr. Warren Daniel, Jody Lambert, Jason Rogers, Lynn Bass, David Bishop and Tony Waterman. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital or Humane Society.
