Golden Funeral Home - July 2015
CHARLENE SHINN RUSSELL

Funeral services for Mrs. Charlene Shinn Russell are scheduled for Saturday, August
1, 2015, at 2 PM at the chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Rev. Kyle Peters
officiating. Interment will follow at the Mer Rouge Cemetery. Visitation will begin
at 12 noon until service time.

Mrs. Russell passed away Thursday, July 30, 2015, at the age of eighty-seven. She is
preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Alice Hicks; husbands, Rev. Nealy
Shinn and Melvin G. "Bill" Russell; brother, Ray Hicks; and granddaughter, Amanda
Shinn.

She is survived by her son, Artie Shinn and wife Donna; grandchildren, Carey Griffin
and husband Dean, and Lisa Ferrington; great-grandchildren, Spencer Griffin, Mattie
Griffin, Abigail Griffin, Dylan Ferrington, Austin Ferrington, and Eathan Shinn.

Mrs. Russell was a long-time member of the Cherry Ridge Baptist Church, where she
retired as secretary after over twenty-five years of service. She was a true example
of a prayer warrior and servant of Christ. She has served as Worthy Matron of the
Eastern Star and was active in Woodmen Of The World for many, many years.

It can truly be said that to know her was to love her.
