He is preceded in death by his mother, Lester Octavia Montgomery Sherwood; father, Norman Winfred Sherwood, and younger brother, Norman Dwayne "Bo" Sherwood (Donna). He is survived by his wife of nearly 59 years, Margaret Kellick Sherwood; sister, Shirley Sherwood Kellick (JC); daughter, Gwendolyn Sherwood Fields (Carroll Fields); daughter Tammy Sherwood Guerrero (Benny Guerrero); 6 grandchildren, one great grandchild and many friends. Born December 14, 1939, in Caruthersville, Missouri, Bob began life as he lived it, with a kind and jovial spirit and a twinkle in his eye. He, like his fathers before him, was a farmer, whose drive, ingenuity and entrepreneurial spirit led to many successful endeavors throughout his life, including multiple accolades and awards as a top crop insurance agent and the creation of various agrarian businesses which at one time included his own seed, chemical and fertilizer company; restaurant; trucking; farming; cattle and crop insurance agency. Each dream was realized and every success accomplished, as was everything he did in life, side by side with his one true love since high school, his lovely wife Margaret. Though he worked for and achieved much in business, nothing surpassed the importance of his faith or the immense love he held for his family. He had a gift with horses and a great fondness for spending time with his daughters and grandchildren in their equestrian pursuits. He loved people and their unique stories, and never met a stranger; always a witty and jocular comment, kind word and affable smile at the ready. His beautifully warm and loving nature left no room for doubt among his family that they were both prioritized and loved unconditionally by this charismatic man with an almost too big heart. His legacy is a beautiful testament of faith, family, perseverance, and most of all, of love. Serving the family as pallbearers will be Ty Rogers, Randy Kellick, Nicky Kellick, Robert Benton, Jody Higgins, Dean Helmer and McClendon Sharp. Honorary pallbearers are Bill Anderson, Paul Pace, Sr., Larry Tubbs and John Walters. Funeral services will be held10 AM Saturday at Bonne Idee Assembly with Bro. Jerry Stuckey officiating. Interment will follow in Red Wing Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 5 PM until 7 PM at Golden Funeral Home.
