Golden Funeral Home - October 2018
KELLY MICHAEL SHIPMAN

Funeral services for Mr. Kelly Michael Shipman, age 55, of Bastrop are scheduled
for 2 PM Sunday, October 21, 2018 in the chapel of Golden Funeral Home.
Interment will follow in Pine Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mr. Shipman passed away Thursday, October 18, 2018 in Alexandria, LA. He was a
crew foreman and service technician for ATMOS Energy. Kelly was a member of
Cherry Ridge Baptist Church. He was a man of God and was saved in his early
20's. Kelly was one that looked for the good in everybody, he loved all souls
and did not judge by appearance, and in return he was loved by everyone who knew
him.
He is survived by his wife, Sheila McBroom Shipman; daughter, Sierra Nicole
Shipman; son, Dakota Michael Shipman; brother, Larry Todd Shipman, all of
Bastrop, LA; sister-in-law, Sherry McBroom Parsons and husband Tony Ray Parsons
of Las Vegas, NV; brother-in-law, Howard Lavon McBroom, Jr.; father-in-law,
Howard L. McBroom, Sr; nephews, Justin L. McBroom, Dustin L. McBroom, Chad B.
Leggett, Shane E. Leggett, Jonathan Beach; niece, Jordan E. Shipman; and several
great nephews and nieces.
Mr. Shipman is preceded in death by his parents, Calvin Larche "C.L." and Billie
Jean Shipman; and mother-in-law, Margaret Louise Nutt McBroom.
Serving as pallbearers will be Chad B. Leggett, Shane E. Leggett, Tony R.
Parsons, Mark W. McKane, Kenneth E. McKane, and Jason Scott McKane. Honorary
pallbearers will be Carl Benton, Greg Martin, and Michael Calk.
Visitation will be held Saturday, October 20, 2018 from 5 PM - 8 PM at Golden
Funeral Home.
