DAVID J. SIMS

Funeral services for Mr. David J. Sims, age 69, are scheduled for 2 p.m. 
Wednesday, March 25, 2009 at the chapel of Golden Funeral Home with the Rev. 
Bobby Porter officiating. Interment will follow in Bartholomew Cemetery. 
Visitation will be held Tuesday from 5-9 p.m. at Golden Funeral Home.

Mr. Sims, a contractor and resident of Bastrop, passed away Monday, March 23, 
2009. He was a member of First Assembly of God.

He is survived by his wife Bonnie Sims; mother, Maxine Sims of Oak Grove; 
daughter, Tia DeBlieux and husband Larry of Bastrop; two sons, Brett Sims and 
wife Kayla of Crossett, Ark., David Wayne Sims and wife Melanie of Bastrop; two 
brothers, Steve Sims and wife Faye of Columbia, John Sims and wife Deborah of 
Swartz; nine grandchildren, Devon Sims and wife Kerri, Derek DeBlieux, Erin 
DeBlieux Davis and husband Carl, Tyler DeBlieux, Casey Sims, Landon Greene, 
Katie Minor, Koven Minor, Ever Rose Minor; and one great grandchild, Rielle 
Sims.

He is preceded in death by his father, Alfred Sims; sister, Sharon Davenport; 
and brother, Aubrey Sims.

Serving as pallbearers will be Bryan Aaron, Jeff Foster, Bill Massey, Darren 
Sims, John Derek Sims, and Kenneth Wayne Aaron. Honorary pallbearers will be 
Frank Day, Johnny Clancy, Bobby Murphy, and Danny Prince.
