Bastrop Daily Enterprise - June 27, 2008
Mattie Lee Smith passed away June 23, 2008, at the age of 73. 


Mattie was an active volunteer of the Bastrop Senior Activity Center, as well 
as working several years with the Covert family in Bastrop. She loved her 
grandchildren, her plants, community service, travel and most of all playing 
Texas Hold Em'.


Mattie was a resident of Bastrop for 25 years.


She is preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, Thomas Edward Smith and 
their son, Timothy Edward Smith.


Mattie is survived by her son, Jim and wife Vicke Brown, son, David Brown, 
daughter Annette and her husband Curtis Bird, and son Clint Smith; adopted 
sons, Bill Lancaster and Paul Greene and step-son Lane and his wife Kathy 
Adams; and 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.


Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, June 26, 2008, at Cook-
Walden Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, June 27 
at Cook-Walden Funeral Home.


Interment will be at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery in Pflugerville.
