SPANN Funeral services for Mr. Coleman E. Spann, age 80, are scheduled for 3 p.m. Sunday, April 20, at the Central Church of Christ with Mr. Waymon Swain and Mr. Joe Nichols officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held Saturday, April 19, from 6 until 8 p.m. at Golden Funeral Home. Mr. Spann was a retired carpenter and a member of the Central Church of Christ. He loved his Lord, family, and his church and prayed for peace and harmony. He was a wonderful gardner who grew vegetables to share with his friends. He spent much of his time visiting the sick and shut-ins at home or at the nursing home. He also served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He is survived by his wife, Rosemary Spann of Bastrop, LA; his daughters, Debbie Grice of West Monroe, LA, Gwen Dodds and husband Thomas of Booneville, MS, and Sherri Slade and husband Johnny of Bastrop, LA; his sons, Lester Pinkard and wife Emily of League City, TX and John Spann and wife Stacey of Chattanooga, TN; his sister, Wynemah Waggener and husband Gayle of Ball, LA; his brothers, David Spann and wife Rhonda of Goodwill, LA, Billy Spann and wife Joyce of Mer Rouge, LA, Larry Spann and wife Cindy of Goodwill, LA, Bobby Spann and wife Janie of Downsville, LA, Harry Spann and wife Flora of Harrison, AR; grandchildren, Candice Joles, Ariel Ladner, Mary Claire Spann, Caroline Spann, Corrine Spann, John Michael Ray, Lester Pinkard, Jr., Robert Pinkard, and Jacob Slade; four great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Serving as pallbearers will be Buddy Frost, Richard Reynolds, Phillip Lester, Jerry McDonald, Kenneth Looney, Hugh Dreher and Carlton Silmon. Honorary pallbearers will be Harold Sawyer, W.M. Matheny, Melvin Eubanks, and Bobby Rodgers.
