GOLDEN FUNERAL HOME - SEPTEMBER 2023
VERA DEAN RALSON SPENCER

Memorial funeral services for Ms. Verna Dean Ralson Spencer will be held at 2 PM 
Friday, October 20, 2023 at Cherry Ridge Baptist Church with Bro. James Ralson 
officiating. There will be a time of visitation after the service until 5 PM at 
the church.

Ms. Spencer, a retired nurse with International Paper Company and member of 
Cherry Ridge Baptist Church, passed away Monday, September 25, 2023 at the age 
of ninety-four. She loved to bake, sew, read, take long walks, play games with 
her family and Sunday School Class. She especially loved watching the Braves 
play baseball.

She is survived by daughters, Pam Spencer Sterrett and husband, Curt of Yankton, 
SD, Janet Spencer Hindman and husband, Greg of Whitney, TX; sons, Mike Spencer 
and wife, Becky, Steve Spencer, both of Bastrop, LA; sisters, Maxine Ralson 
Henderson, Ethel Ralson Thomas; and brother, Clifton Ralson and wife, Margie; 
ten grandchildren; twenty-one great grandchildren; two great great 
grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Ms. Spencer is preceded in death by her parents, A.J. and Johnie Ralson; 
sisters, Polly Carter, Dorothy Campbell; and brothers, Maurice Ralson, and J.B. 
Ralson.

The family of Ms. Verna would like to say a big "Thank You" to the nurses, and 
staff of Lagniappe Healthcare and Premier Hospice for the special care given to 
Mrs. Spencer.
