POWELL NEWMAN JR. STANFILL

Mr. Powell Newman “Buddy” Stanfill, Jr., a resident of Bastrop, LA, passed away 
Saturday, August 26, 2023 at the age of 82. A memorial visitation will be held 
from 5 PM until 7 PM Tuesday, August 29, 2023 at Golden Funeral Home.

Mr. Stanfill was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. He was the owner 
and operator of Stanfill Electric Company for 40 years. He always had a story 
for every situation. He loved playing the guitar, fishing, and hunting. Anyone 
that met him, liked him.

Mr. Stanfill is survived by his wife of almost 60 years, Rita Murphy Stanfill; 
four children, David Powell Stanfill and wife Karen, Allen Newman Stanfill, 
Michelle Runions and husband David, Nicole Richardson and husband Stan; seven 
grandchildren, Ryan Stanfill, Samantha Stanfill, Harley Stanfill, Brittany 
Stanfill, Candace Runions, Ashlyn Richardson, Jessie Richardson; two great 
grandchildren, Nolan Stanfill, Brady Lovitt; two sisters, Ann Reeves, Pat 
Watridge; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Powel N. Stanfill, Sr. and Corrine 
Stanfill; brothers, James Stanfill and William Stanfill.
