Tim Post and Bro. Bobby Porter officiating under the direction of Golden Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Hughes Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be held Sunday March 27, 2016 from 5 p.m. - 7 p.m. at Bethel Baptist Church. Mrs. Stanley, a resident of Beekman and homemaker, departed for her heavenly home on March 25, 2016. She was born in Bastrop, Louisiana on December 17, 1937 to the union of L.A. Evans, Sr. and Louise Brown Evans. Mrs. Stanley became a child of God at an early age. She served as a Sunday School teacher for many years and was a past member of the Pine Hill Methodist Protestant Church women's choir. She was a current member of Bethel Baptist Church. Mrs. Stanley's hobby was collecting cookbooks and was always "trying a new recipe". She enjoyed reading and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren that she referred to as "her angels". She and her husband also enjoyed camping and vacation trips with their dear friends, Melvin and Jan Wilkerson. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Glendol Stanley; daughter, Glennis Stanley Lewis and husband Benny Mack Lewis, and daughter, Lisa Stanley Chain and husband Kevin Chain, all of Beekman; granddaughters, Amanda Newnum Lewis and husband B.J., Jennifer Chain Ellingburg and husband Jim; grandson, Hunter Lewis; great grandchildren, Katelynn Lewis, Garrett Lewis, Emmalyn Ellingburg, James Evan Ellingburg; brothers, Huey "Frankie" Evans and wife Jane, Aubrey Evans and wife Grace, Ray Evans; sisters, Jeanette Evans Ray and Fay Evans Jordan; and sister-in-law, Guylene Evans. Mrs. Stanley is preceded in death by her parents and brothers, L.A. Evans, Jr., Erwin "Hookie" Evans, Bennie Evans and Kenneth Evans; brothers-in-law, Norris Ray and Larry Jordan; and sister-in-law, Mary Evans. Serving the family as pallbearers will be her nephews, Billy Jordan, Tommy Jordan, Curtis Jordan, Dillon Evans, Roma Carroll Stanley and special nephew, Ray Wilkerson. Honorary pallbearers are; Melvin Wilkerson, Hinky Hudson and Dexter Bryan.
