HUNTER CATHERINE WHITLOW STEPTOE Mrs. Hunter Catherine Witlow Steptoe died Wednesday in Morehouse General Hospital following a brief illness. Mrs. Steptoe was a retired school teacher, having Steptoe taught for many years at Morehouse High School retiring on June 1, 1963, She was 79 years of age. She was the widow of R.G. Steptoe, the first principal of Morehouse Training School back in the 1920's. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m, Sunday in Mt. Olive United Methodist Church with Rev. R.S Murray officiating. Interment will be in the Old City Cemetery under the direction of Millers Funeral Home of Monroe. Survivors include one son, Arlington Steptoe of Oakland, Calif; two daughters, Elvira Medlock of Monroe; Tivis Hunter of Bastrop and Mrs. Beryl Davis of Shreveport; one sister-in-law, Mrs. Melvina Whitlow of Bastrop; six grandchildred, five great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
