Mr. Sterling was born Jan. 3, 1915 in Gloster, MS. He is survived by Margie Shaw Sterling, his wife of 73 years; three daughters, Myrtis Ruth Perdue and husband Raymond of Rogers, AR, Carolyn Sue Rowden and husband Gary of Longview, TX, and Linda Kay Adams and husband Bobby of Pampa, TX; five grandchildren, Tami Ditta and husband Robert of Lowell, AR, Todd Perdue of West Monroe, LA, Lonny Rowden and wife Kathleen of Long Beach, CA, Lara Brown and husband Lynn of Grand Prairie, TX, and Kerry Adams of Amarillo, TX; seven great-grandchildren, Dani Dean of Winnsboro, LA, Ryan Ditta and wife Jenny of Springdale, AR, Jordan Perdue of West Monroe, LA, Joy Rowden of San Antonio, TX, Sterling Adams of Midland, TX, Joanna Rowden of San Antonio, TX, Wyatt Brown of Grand Prairie, TX; four great-great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn Tilman of Winnsboro, LA, Maddelyn Cruse of Winnsboro, LA, and Carly Dean of Winnsboro, LA; niece, Arvial Lee McIntyre of Goodwill, LA; nephews, James Eames of Shreveport, LA, Richard McLemore of Wallis, TX, and Donald Sterling of Georgetown, TX. Mr. Sterling was preceded in death by a son, Ronald Wayne Sterling. Mr. Sterling was a charter member of Bonne Idee Assembly of God Church. Will Archie Sterling was an avid hunter. He loved to engage in talk about guns and hunting, and his life on the railroad. Mr. Sterling was a landowner in Morehouse Parish for 76 years on Bayou Bonne Idee. He was retired from Cities Service Oil Company in Fairbanks, LA, Perryville, LA, Pampa, TX, Borger, TX, and Stinnett, TX. During his life he had worked for the railroad, paper mills and was also a farmer. Visitation will be held from 1-2 p.m. Saturday October, 13 2012 at Golden Funeral Home Chapel. Services will be under the direction of Golden Funeral Home at 2 p.m. Saturday, October, 13, 2012 with Rev. Kelvin Clark and Rev. Gary Rowden officiating. Interment will follow in Christ Church Cemetery, Bastrop, LA. Pallbearers will be Robert Ditta, Johnny Hughes, Kerry Adams, Ed Putman, Don Sistrunk, and Rev. Jerry Stuckey. The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude and appreciation to the caring staff of the Arbors and Terrace of Bastrop for creating a safe and secure home for their husband and father for the past four years. Also, to the staff of Morehouse General Hospital and Johnny and Ann Hughes (nephew and niece by marriage) for the care shown during the seventeen days of hospitalization.
