SUMRALL Bastrop, La. - Funeral services for Joshua "J.P." Sumrall, 17, of Sterlington, will be held 2 p.m. Friday, December 5, 2008 at Harmony Baptist Church with the Rev. Allen Eppinette officiating. Interment will follow at the Red Wing Cemetery near Goodwill under the direction of Cox Funeral Home, Bastrop. Visitation with the family will be Thursday evening from 5 p.m. till 9 p.m. at Harmony Baptist Church, 7597 Collinston Road, Collinston. Joshua Paul Sumrall, "J.P.", to his many friends was born September 24, 1991 in Monroe and he died Tuesday, December 2, 2008 in Monroe. "J.P." was an automotive mechanic with Scott Nettles Automotive in Monroe. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather Jack Gibson. Joshua is survived by his mother, Chasity Sumrall and Gary Johnston of Sterlington; his father, Tony Sumrall and Rita Harrington of Katy, Texas; three brothers, Jack Anderson of Sterlington, Nick Sumrall and Tony Sumrall both of Katy, Texas; step-sister Kaleigh Johnston of Sterlington, three step- brothers, Braxton Johnston of Bastrop, Jackson Harrington and John Crenshaw both of Katy, Texas; maternal grandmother, Brenda Dobbs of National City, California; paternal grandparents, Wilson and Jane Sumrall of Bastrop; an aunt, Tina Sumrall Drewry and husband Norman of Bastrop; uncles, Todd Sumrall of Bakersfield, California and Rodney Gibson of Dumas, Texas; a special cousin and best friend, "Squeaky" Drewry of Bastrop. Serving as pallbearers are Kegan Bretton, Brandon Wooten, David Shivers, Jermaine Chandler, Chris Clark and Cody Walker. Honorary pallbearers are Colby Aulds and Kyle Crenshaw. "J.P." was well loved and will be missed by his many many friends.
