She was born on October 30, 1955 to Ray and Ann Franklin. Cheryl was a life-long member of the Church of Christ, where she was active in all aspects of church life, including teaching Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, and many other church activities. Second only to her love for the Lord and His church, was the love and devotion she had for her family. She was a perfect example of a Christian wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved nothing more than loving, supporting, and spoiling her seven grandchildren. For over thirty years Cheryl worked for the Files Insurance Agency where she tirelessly served her customers. For over two years she valiantly battled health issues with dignity, character and much fortitude. Funeral services are scheduled for 11 AM Thursday, July 16, 2020 at Central Church of Christ with Minister Jerry Martin officiating. Visitation with the family will be from 10 AM - 11 AM. A private family interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Golden Funeral Home. She is survived by her loving husband of forty-four years, Terry Tanksley; mother, Ann Franklin; daughter, Laura Smith and husband Brannon; son, Josh Tanksley and wife Melissa; brother, Charles Franklin, Jr.; grandchildren, Caleb Tanksley, Shyla Tanksley, Peyton Tanksley, Ethan Tanksley, Micah Smith, Mason Smith, Ann-Marie Smith and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
