ERNESTINE THOMAS

Funeral services for Mrs. Ernestine Thomas, age 90, of Bastrop, LA are 
scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Friday September 12, 2014 at the Chapel of Golden 
Funeral Home with Bro. Tim Post officiating. Interment will follow in 
Liberty Cemetery (Linville, LA) under the direction of Golden Funeral Home. 
Visitation will be held Thursday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Golden 
Funeral Home.

Mrs. Thomas, a retired sales clerk from Ireland's Jewelry Store and a member 
of Cherry Ridge Baptist Church, passed away Wednesday, September 10, 2014 at 
her residence. Mrs. Thomas enjoyed reading and listening to Christian music.

She is survived by her daughters, Judy Tate and husband Ernest of Denham 
Springs, LA; Gail Joiner and husband Chuck of West Monroe, LA; brother, 
Preston Parks and wife Joan of Rogers, AR; five grandchildren and eight 
great grandchildren.

Mrs. Thomas was preceded in death by her husband, Merlin Thomas; parents, 
Ernest and Celeste Parks; daughter, Joan Hart; son-in-law, Joe Hart and a 
grandson, Jeff Tate.

Serving as pallbearers are: Eddie Johnson, Eric Johnson, Ryne Tate, Joey 
Bennett, Tony Tullos and Lynn Sanders.
