Golden Funeral Home - June 2016
MARIE THOMPSON

Funeral services for Mrs. Marie Thompson, age 96, of Bastrop, LA are 
scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday, June 6, 2016 at the Chapel of Golden Funeral 
Home with Rev. Phillip McCready and Rev. Ronnie Thompson officiating. 
Interment will take place in Sharon Cemetery (Sikes, LA) at 5:30 PM. 
Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Sunday at Golden Funeral 
Home.

Mrs. Thompson, a homemaker and member of Central Missionary Baptist Church, 
was born June 14, 1919 and passed away Thursday, June 2, 2016 in Texarkana, 
Texas. She was known as the “Kool-Aid Lady” each year during Bible school. 
She was very unselfish and loved by all.

She is survived by her daughter, Elaine Hipp and husband Billy of Atlanta, 
TX; two sons, Sherman Thompson and wife Jan of Bastrop, LA, Ronnie Thompson 
and wife Beverly of Bastrop, LA; sister, Gertrude Lawrence of Jonesboro, LA; 
brother, Billy Ray Henderson of Albuquerque, NM; nine grandchildren, Ronnie 
Henrico, Bobbi Erwin, Dee Dee Bush, Dana Craig Thompson, Robin Doles, Holly 
Thompson, Jamie Thompson, Phillip Thompson, Ashley Thompson Aker; twenty one 
great grandchildren, one great great grandchild and numerous nieces and 
nephews.

Mrs. Thompson is preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, S.A. “Bill” 
Thompson; daughter and son-in-law, Joyce and Don Craig; parents, George W. 
and Anna Jane Henderson; sisters, Bertie DelRio, Ruby Temple, Helen Thomas; 
and brothers, Lamar Henderson, Delbert Henderson and Jimmy Henderson.

Serving as pallbearers are: Joel Henrico, Jamie Thompson, Phillip Thompson, 
Scott Reed, Mike Erwin, Jason Doles, Chris Aker, and James Thompson. 
Honorary pallbearers are: Brian Bush and Zachary Hancock.
