Richard Gambil officiating. Interment will be in the Bartholomew Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:30 PM until service time on Monday. Mr. Turner passed away Friday, July 22, 2016, at the age of eighty-six. He was a retired farmer, a profession he dearly loved. He was a member and deacon of the First Baptist Church, as well as a member of the Masonic Lodge. Mr. Turner was active in community affairs, having served on the Morehouse Parish School Board and the Morehouse Parish Police Jury in years past. His children, grandchildren, and family were his heart. He is preceded in death by his wife of sixty-six years, Mary K. Sisson Turner; parents, George and Maude Turner; and sisters, Vivian Sears, Pearl Cox, Joyce Williams, and Sue Riles. Survivors include, sons, Dr. Emil Turner and wife Mary, Barry Turner and wife Reba, Dan Turner and wife Pam; sisters, Lana Smith and Lillian Collier; brother, Jim Turner; and grandchildren, Joel Turner, Jonathan Turner, Justin Turner, Marshall Turner, Matthew Turner, and Jessica Densmore; and eleven great grandchildren. Mr. Turner’s grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
