JERRY DEXTER TURNER

Funeral services for Jerry Dexter Turner, 23, of Oak Grove who was killed in an 
offshore accident near Houma Wednesday are set for 2 p.m. today at Beulah 
Baptist Church near Oak Grove with the Rev. Bruce Lunsford and Rev. David 
Woodard officiating.

Turner died about 5 p.m. Wednesday on Exxon Co's Penrod Rig 43 in the Lirette 
Field below Monteguet/

According to Penrod Safety Director Vernon Ramke, Turner was roughnecking and 
got his food caught on the rotary table when it backlashed and threw him into an 
air cylinder, injuring his head. A Penrod spokesman said the accident is under 
investigation by the company's safety division.

Survivors include his mother, Mrs. Ruth Turner of Oak Grove; one son, Kenneth 
Wayne Turner of Oak Grove; three brothers. Jimmy Turner of Oak Grove, Jack 
Turner of Lake Providence and William F. Turner of Swartz; three sisters, Mrs. 
Jeanette McKoin of West Monroe, Mrs. Joann Morris of Monroe, and Mrs. Mildred 
Jones of Oak Grove
