Golden Funeral Home - September 2016
WALTER TYSON

Funeral services for Mr. Walter “Whoopie” Tyson, age 72, of Goodwill, LA are 
scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday, September 26, 2016 at the Goodwill Church of 
God with Bro. Paul Ninemire and Chaplain Wolf officiating. Interment will 
follow in Redwing Cemetery under the direction of Golden Funeral Home. 
Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. Sunday at the church.

Mr. Tyson is survived by his wife of 48 years, Shirley Bonner Tyson; three 
sisters, Velma Stillman of Little Rock, AR, Mary Gertrude Lindeman of 
Reidsport, OR, Laura “Pam” Cheek of Bastrop, LA; brother, Louis Tyson and 
wife Laverne of Andrews, TX; five brothers-in-law, Willie Bonner of 
Greenville, MS, Wayne Bonner and wife Lilly of Houston, TX, James “Bud” 
Bonner and wife Debbie of Baton Rouge, LA, Mitch Bonner and Jimmy Bonner 
both of Greenville, MS.

He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Leona McDougald and his in-
laws, Owen and Laverne Bonner.

Mr. Tyson, a retired truck driver and member of Goodwill Church of God, 
passed away Saturday, September 24, 2016 at his residence. He loved people 
and always had a joke and a wonderful sense of humor.

Serving as pallbearers are: Sherieal Fowler, Willie Bonner, Jimmy Bonner, 
Ricky Brister, Tony Madden and Roy Bass. Honorary pallbearer will be Rickey 
Brister.
