Jerry Stuckey officiating. Interment will follow at Mer Rouge Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 5 PM until 7 PM at the funeral home. George was born February 5, 1947 and passed away peacefully on May 19, 2017 after a brief illness. Mr. Warren was a member of Mer Rouge United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his father, Leonard “Pro” Warren; a step-son, Chris Musgrove; his longtime friend and employer, Jim Taylor; and his beloved schnauzer, Gussie. Mr. Warren is survived by his wife of 36 years, Kay; a daughter, Amy Musgrove; his mother, Lois Warren; a brother, Jimmy Warren and wife Mary; a sister, Beverly Graves and husband Steve; an uncle, Buck Raus and wife Linda; and several nieces, nephews and a host of friends. George worked for over 25 years as a car salesman for Jim Taylor, in the early years at Regency Motors and then Jim Taylor Chevrolet where he was manager for several years. He truly enjoyed his work and had many longtime customers. George’s true passion in life was golf. He played on the semi pro tour and was well known on the golf circuit. He spent countless hours on the course trying to perfect his game and helping others perfect theirs. His greatest accomplishment was winning the 1987 Firecracker 4 Ball Tournament at Morehouse Country Club with partner David Leonard. George served in the United States Navy where he was part of the golf team. He lived a good life. Serving as pallbearers will be Johnny McAdams, Marley Oldham, Dickie Blackwell, Buddy Blackwell, Daniel Harris, Dickie Heusel, Roger Jones, and Danny Deblieux. Honorary pallbearers are Don LeGrand, Billy Blocker and employes of Jim Taylor Chevrolet. Planned memorials may be made to Mer Rouge Methodist Church, P.O. Box 400, Mer Rouge, LA 71261. The family wishes to thank Dr. Scott Barron, Dr. Stephanie Long, Dr. Gullette and all the nurses that cared for him at St. Francis Medical Center.
