LEGACY - NOV 2025
JOSEPH "CHIPPER" JR. WEST

A memorial service for Joseph "Chipper" West, Jr. is scheduled for 2 PM 
Thursday, November 6, 2025, at New Life Church, with Bro. Joey Kennedy 
officiating. A time of visitation with the family will be held Thursday from 1 
PM - 2 PM prior to service at the church.
Mr. West, a resident of Bastrop, LA, passed away Monday, November 3, 2025, at 
the age of seventy-one. He was a United States Army Veteran having served during 
Vietnam and an active member of New Life Church in Bastrop. Mr. West was a 
gunsmith who loved to hunt, fish, bowl, and even umpired Little League baseball 
in years past.
He is survived by his wife of forty-seven years, Kay West; daughters, Ramona 
Bowen, and husband Stephen, Kaylee West, Isabella West; sons, Joseph West, III, 
Jeremy West, and wife Brooke; sister, Lou Leasure; brothers, Donald Brown, David 
West; grandchildren, Taylor Day, Kristen Bowen, Lane Bowen, Khloe West, Makayla 
West, Jeremiah West; and great-grandchildren, Scarlett Strange, Mason Day, and 
Jason Day.
Mr. West is preceded in death by his parents, Akkie and Joseph West, Sr.; and 
several siblings.
