Golden Funeral Home - December 2017
JAMES EDWARD WHETSTONE

Funeral services for Mr. James Edward Whetstone, age 81, are scheduled for 11 AM
Saturday, December 30, 2017 at Golden Funeral Home with Bro. Tim Post
officiating. Interment will follow in Christ Church Cemetery under the direction
of Golden Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 5 PM until 7 PM Friday,
December, 29 at Goldens.
Mr. Whetstone, a retired lineman for Entergy and resident of Bastrop, passed
away December 25, 2017.
He is survived by his wife Lucille Whetstone; daughter, Sandra Matlock and
husband Ben, Jr.; son, Rodney Whetstone and wife Amy; cousin, Jane Miller;
nephews, David Dempsey and Alan Dempsey.
Mr. Whetstone is preceded in death by the mother of his children, Lillian Maxine
Garner Whetstone; parents, W.E. and Nancy Whetstone; sister, Sarah Dempsey.
Serving as pallbearers will be Jimmy Wall, David Dempsey, Alan Dempsey, Charles
Spikes, Hayward Crenshaw and Tom Carter.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Lisa Mitchell for her
devoted care to their loved one.
