Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Winnon, a resident of Bastrop, retired from Georgia Pacific (Crossett) and AL&M Railroad, and a member of the Natchitoches Tribe of Louisiana, passed away Saturday, November 10, 2018. Mr. Winnon is a member of Bonita Road Baptist Church, and Delta Nu Alpha Transportation Fraternity. Mr. Winnon served in the United States Marines. He enjoyed woodworking and traveling. Mr. Winnon is preceded in death by his parents, W.T. Winnon and Willie Winnon; brothers, Otis Davis, Troy Davis, Jesse Winnon; and sister, Rachel Spicer. Mr. Winnon is survived by his wife, Ivy Gene Hamby Winnon; two daughters, Brenda Myers and husband Keith of West Monroe, LA, Donna Cox and husband John of Bastrop, LA; two sisters, Mae Mardis of Bastrop, LA, Lillian Atkins, Fayetteville, AR; one brother, George Winnon of Bastrop, LA; four grandchildren, Rachel Cox, Emery Cox, Ryeland Myers, Cameron Myers; and three great grandchildren, Joshua Cox, Sutton Myers, and Hadlyn Cox and one on the way. Serving as pallbearers will be Keith Myers, John Cox, Ryeland Myers, Emery Cox, Barry Mardis, and Brannon Smith. Honorary pallbearer will be great grandson Joshua Cox. The family will receive friends from 1 PM until 2 PM Monday at Golden Funeral Home. Special thanks to Dr. Carter Cox, Dr. Gerard Henry, and Willis Knighton North (the Intervention Radiology Department), Haven Home Health, and Ascend Hospice.
