JEROME WOOLSEY

Memorial services for Jerome "J.P." Woolsey will be held at 2 PM Friday, October 
31, 2025, in the chapel of Golden Funeral Home.
Mr. Woolsey, a retiree from Georgia Pacific, passed away Monday, October 27, 
2025 at the age of seventy-eight. Mr. Woolsey was a computer technician who 
loved working on computers in his spare time, a mechanic, specializing in small 
engines, and also a member of the American Legion here in Bastrop.
He is survived by his son, Justin Woolsey; brother-in-law, John Taylor; sister-
in-law, Elizabeth Ann Woolsey; grandchildren, Zachary Jones and wife Kailee; 
great granddaughter, River Irene Jones; nieces, Audrey Woolsey, Melissa Woolsey 
Henderson, Brenda Taylor Atkins, Debbie Taylor Baker and husband Glen, Phylis 
Taylor Rhodes and husband Jerry; and numerous other nieces and nephews.
Mr. Woolsey is preceded in death by his wife, Connie Owens Woolsey; special 
companion, Donna Schultz; sister, Ruth Taylor; brothers, Ronald Woolsey, Donald 
Woolsey, and Wallace Woolsey.
