HERMAN YATES JR.


Mr. Herman “Shelby” Yates, Jr, a retired technician with Centerpoint Energy and
member of New Life Church of God, passed away Saturday, November 17, 2018. A
private memorial service will be held at a later date.
Mr. Yates is survived by his wife of forty-one years, Dee Yates; children, Jeff
Yates and wife Vickie of Jonesboro, LA, Lisa Firestine and husband Mike of St.
Louis, MO, Aimee Yates of Collinston, LA; sister, Gayle Johnston and husband Bo,
of Bastrop, LA; sister-in-law, Becky Yates of Bastrop, LA; grandchildren, Lizzie
Nason, Autumn Nason, Chris Yates, Benjamin Yates; numerous great grandchildren,
nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Herman Yates, Sr and O.Z. Yates; and
brother, Donald Ray Yates
