BELLWOOD (OLD) CEMETERY
(Natchitoches Parish)


This cemetery is located on the grounds of the old Bellwood Academy.  The
community of Bellwood began at this location and continued about four miles
south of the present day location on Highway 117, just north of Kisatchie. 
There are many obvious unmarked burials in this cemetery, but there are also
obviously many lost burials.  The tombstone inscriptions were copied
by Jack Hadnot (deceased) of Leesville LA in June of 1972, and is submitted
by Jane P. McManus of Alexandria LA.
