All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** ************************************************ MUNSON-VILLERMAN CEMETERY This small cemetery is located in a wooded area about one mile west of the Rocky Mount Church and Cemetery, which is located near the Sabine and Natchitoches Parish line just north of Robeline, La. It is referred to as the Munson, Muncon, or Munson-Villerman Cemetery. While there is only one burial marked with an engraved stone, two other graves are evident and are marked with wooden slats. It is believed that there are a number of unmarked graves. According to information and family group sheets furnished by Mr. Lites of Many, La, there are at least three unmarked graves. Ms. Odell Cobb and Ms. Audrey Dipuma visited the cemetery in July 1998 and interviewed Mr. Lites concerning the burials. VILLERMAN, Joseph (Jeff) ( 08 July 1822 / 23 October 1893 ) Born in Belgium, the son of John Francis Veuleman and Mary Theresa Van-den Poel. According to the manifest of the ship 'Brig Caroline' out of Antwerp, Belgium, which arrived in the United States in June of 1835, John Francis Veuleman and his family were passengers. John Francis Veuleman ( 1802/ 1853) and his wife, Mary Theresa Van-den Poel ( 1798 / 1876 ), are buried in St. Andrews Catholic Cemetery, in Tipton, Missouri. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ MARY NEIVES O'CONN ( about 1838 / February 19, 1868 ) First wife of Joseph Villerman (Veuleman); believed to be buried in the Munson Cemetery. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ JOHN VEULEMAN ( 1860 or 1866 / March 30, 1906 ) Son of Joseph 'Jeff' Villerman (Veuleman) and Mary Nieves O'Conn. John Veuleman was born February 20, 1860; (other information indicates May 22, 1866) He was the husband of Susan Larkins ( September 16, 1867 / November 8, 1939), daughter of Eveline Armstreet and ? Larkins. It is believed that John Veuleman is buried in the Munson Cemetery. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ SARAH ANN DILLARD ( November 17, 1840 / after 1882 ) Second wife of Joseph Villerman (Veuleman), born November 17, 1840, death date unknown, but birth of last child of Joseph and Sarah Ann is indicated as 1882. It is possible that Sarah Ann Dillard Villerman (Veuleman) is buried in the Munson cemetery. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ JOSEPH EUGENE VEULEMAN ( June 2, 1869 / after 1897 ) Son of Joseph 'Jeff' Villerman (Veuleman) and Sarah Ann Dillard. Joseph Eugene Veuleman's death date is unknown, but was probably sometime after 1897 (the birth year of the last child of Joseph Eugene and Arminta Jane Winn Anders Veuleman). Joseph Veuleman was the husband of Arminta Jane Winn (May 2, 1858 / August 16, 1928), who first married James Melton Anders. Arminta Jane Winn Anders Veuleman ( daughter of Joseph Ira Winn and Susan Jennings ) is buried in the Rocky Mount Cemetery, Natchitoches Parish, LA.
