Seneca Pace was married to Celine Favron Gorum and they had James Azenau Pace. Celine died in childbirth having James Azenau. Seneca is the one that settled the Pace Community. He and his brother were going to Texas from Georgia and Seneca stayed in Louisiana. Seneca built a dirt house for Celine and it was the largest house at the time in that area. The dirt house was built where the cemetery is now. Celine had been married before and was a widow. She had one child from her first marriage, a daughter. After Seneca's death James Azenau Pace was raised by the Desoto's. James married Ractina Anty who had lost her parents, Jean Baptiste and Jane Anty, and was raised by a Bryant family.
