All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** JOHN WRINKLE ESTATE - 1829 Be it remembered that we the undersigned Sarah Wrinkle on the one part, and Charity Bludworth by the authorization of her husband John Bludworth, on the other part, have on this twenty first day of MAy, one thousand eight hundred and twenty nine, entered into, and established, and by hereunto subscribing our names, do bind ourselves to conform to the following agreement according to the true meaning and intent thereof, to wit: that each of the said parties, the said Sarah Wrinkle and Charity Bludworth by authorization of her husband shall immediately take possession and make use of one equal half of all the property which was possessed by the late John Wrinkle of the Parish of Natchitoches, and State of Louisiana, deceased, and left by him at his death, according tot he valuation made thereof by Abraham Wrinkle, Davie Wrinkle, and Daniel Brown. It is further agreed by the said parties that the said Sarah Wrinkle shall receive and possess the following slaves to wit: Ison - valued at two hundred dollars, Sid - valued at four hundred dollars, and Joe - valued at six hundred dollars, and that the said Charity Bludworth shall receive and possess Allen - valued at five hundred dollars, and Claiborne - valued at four hundred dollars, and it is further agreed that all the other property belonging to the said John Wrinkle at the time of his death, including the improvements of the plantation where the said John Wrinkle resided at his death, with farming utensils, blacksmith's tools, horses, horned cattle, hogs, guns, etc., shall be possessed by the parties according as the said parties may value them, in such a manner that one of the said parties shall receive in amount equal to the other including slaves as above valued - and it is further agreed that the said Sarah Wrinkle shall not remove form the parish aforesaid any of the slaves which she has become possessed of by this agreement without consent of parties, no dispose of any of them during her natural life, and that she, the said Sarah Wrinkle, binds herself to leave at her death, all the property she may then be in possession of, one half to her daughter Nancy, and the other equal half to her daughter Charity.
