R. Reed removed an eye from Mr. L. E. Davis. About 12 years ago, an accident destroyed the sight of Mr. Davis' right eye, but removal was not deemed necessary. Lately however, the eye became inflamed and got worse as time went on, causing intense suffering for about 10 days. The doctor decided that there was no relief except by removal of the disturbing member and Mr. Davis was taken to the sanitarium where the operation was performed. It is thought that the intense heat incident to Davis' employment about the machinery of the City Power House where he is employed caused the trouble. Davis is improving rapidly and his friend's hope to see him back at his post at an early date.
