New members of the Club are Msdm. Don Lester, C. H. Gresham, H. R. Todd, R. W. Daray and Miss Eve Mouton. Northwestern State College's marching band directed by Dwight D. Davis, has received an invitation to march in two of New Oreans'(sic) oldest and biggest Mardi Gras parades. They will participate in the Krewe of Proteus and the Mystic Krewe of Comus. Sp3 John Hill Cunningham is en route home from Japan by ship following two years of service in the U.S. Army. His twin brother, SP2 Peyton, flew back to this country and expects to be discharged in time to enter LSU Law School for the second semester. Mrs. Samuel Levy will speak to the Junior Garden Club instead of Miss Caroline Dormom, who suddenly became ill. Hostesses will be Mary Margaret Cloutier, Lou Cloutier and Diane Dalme. Former NCS Coach Harry "Rags" Turpin claims he didn't get excited until his 6 and 3/4 pound bass was in sight. He was fishing in what is left of Lake Navarro after the dam was washed out by heavy rains. Forward Walter Ledet, a seasoned rebounder, leads the defense of the St. Mary's Tigers with his consistent work on the back boards. A dependable "sixth" man for the Tigers in Sammy Fowler, who had a deadly jump shot. Both are sophomores at St. Mary's. Camellias decorated the table for the luncheon of the Ladies Country club when hostesses were Msdm. J. E. Keegan, Jack P. McCain, R. W. Hatch, L. J. Melder and Miss Memie Jordan. Mrs. Clayton Miller received the door prize and Mrs. Russell Gahagan had high score for bridge.
