Located about 7 leagues from the Village of Natchitoches. Land has been inhabited more than 20 years, being first established by Jacques Christy. Copy of another order by Carondelet, dated 26 Mar 1795 for 298 arpents, lying partially on both sides of River Bourgunion. Bounded by Philip Frederick Jr. below & Pierre Chelette above. Plat Survey by Carlos Trudeau (Royal Surveyor), dated 14 May 1794 Accompanied by a Patent for 1165 arpents. Survey by Trudeau, dated 21 Mar 1795 with Patent signed by Carondelet dated 26 Mar 1795. This in the name of Philip Frederick Jr. for 258 arpents on the right and 210 on the right side of River Natchitoches. Bounded above by Pierre Metoyer and below by James Fasire (sic, Frazier ?) Plat by Trudeau, dated 15 May 1794 with Patent by Carondelet, dated 16 May 1794. This one in the name of Marie Therese, free negress for 80 arpents on each side of Bayou Bourgunion (Natchitoches) bounded above by Pierre Metoyer and below by Ailhaut (sic) St. Ann Plat by Trudeau, dated 17 May 1794 with Patent by Carondelet, 20 May The Commissioners have examined the submissions with 4 Patents and have determined them to be True Abstracts. Along with No. A-1684. A-1684 Pierre Juan Juan, "usually so called, but whose real name is Pierre Metoyer". A Deposition of Francois Davyon (Davion), dated 5 Mar 1798. Land was first settled by Pierre Boudouine (sic). (On the reverse) Pierre Bodouin, 6 by 40 (6 arpents x 40 arpents) on both sides of River Bourgigun (sic) bounded by John Tchever (sic), a free man of color, above and bounded below by Michel Raban (sic) About 14 leagues below Natchitoches Post at a place commonly called (confluence is interlined and replaced with) mouth of said river. B-1719 Micael Cazeneuve (sic) Testimony 23 Dec 1811 Deposition of Soulange Bossier 2.97 acres on a ridge behind the Post of Natchitoches. A-1733 Louis Barthelemew (sic) Rachal Receipt 31 Dec 1806 Land on Red River in Natchitoches County was purchased from Sylvestre Bossier 10 Jan 1785, a moiety of land between Bossier and Jacques Le Vasseur. Original Spanish Grant signed by Carondelet, 24 May 1796. A-1715 __?__ Hernandes (sic) Testimony 4 Sep 1811 Deposition by Antoin (sic) Lacaze. States claimant has resided on 640 acres of land on Bayou Cannes (Cane River). B-1781 Athanaze DeMezier Testimony 19 Nov 1811 Lot in the Village of Natchitoches on Red River. Deposition of Antoine Coindet. Land first inhabited by Mr. Pavie who sold it to Mr. Metoyer, who sold it to claimant, DeMezier. B-1804 Jean Baptiste Villard St. Anne Testimony 16 Nov 1811 Deposition of Antoine Prudhomme. Claimant purchased one arpent front on the left side of Red River by order of conveyance from Mrs. Nicholas, who had inhabited the same 40 years ago. Survey No. 167, dated in 1805. B-1809 Same as above Testimony 20 Nov 1811 Deposition of Antoine Prudhomme. Claimant owns 12.23 acres and is held by an Order of Survey to Bartholemy Rachal. B-1863 Jean Pierre Cloutier Testimony 19 Nov 1811 10 arpents fronting each side of Red River. Notice of Claim, dated 31 Dec 1806 for land in Natchitoches County bounded above by land of the Widow __?__ and below by the Plantation of Louis Lambre. B-1624 John Bte. Davion Sr. Testimony 30 Dec 1811 Deposition of Th__?__ Bossier. Land on both sides of Red River. B-1627 Joseph Foret Testimony 30 Dec 1811 Deposition of Th__?__ Bossier. One half acre of land fronting on Red River near Bayou Brevel (sic). B-1649 Louis & Gilbert Clauseau Several As Heirs of Madame Veuve (Widow) Triche, their mother, they claim 200 acres on River Rouge (Red River) or River Campte (area, where the Red once divided into three streams) in Natchitoches County. Patent issued to Gilbert Clauseau and Madame Veuve Triche from the authorized Spanish officer. Mentions a Plat and Certificate of Survey, dated 18 Dec 1810, but does not accompany this claim. Deposition of Andre Vasseau (sic), dated 14 Dec 1811. States there are 264.19 acres on Black Lake issued by an Order of Survey in favor of St.__?__ Bossier. A-1650 Pierre Jos Mais (sic) Testimonies 1811 Claims a tract of land 40 arpents x 40 arpents, lying on both sides of Ctisatchie (Kistachie). Deposition of Alexis Cloutier, dated 18 Nov 1811, mentions St. Denis. Deposition of Antoine Prudhomme, dated 20 Nov 1811. Both depositions mention land on 1 side of Kisatchie received by the Claimant by a French Patent and the other side by Spanish Concession. Deposition of Sousauge (sic) Bossier, dated 13 Dec 1811. Maes (sic) is deceased and the property was sold as (by ?) his Heirs. B-1650 John Baptiste Armand Not Shown 30 Dec 1806 Claimant states he is in possession of 5 acres fronting on both sides of Red River in Natchitoches County. Received by Donation (Mentioned but not included) from Pierre Joseph Maes (sic) Feb 1800. B- 1674 Madame Fonteneau (sic) Not Shown Lot in the Town of Natchitoches, purchased from Louis Vascocus, Jean Poiret and T__?__ DuBois. Filed for record, 27 Dec 1806. B-2107 Bernard Giramot (sic) Certificate in the name of Jacques Lavassieine (sic), dated 24 Oct 1812 for 101.53 acres. Deposition of Alexis Cloutier, dated 19 Nov 1811 - 1 1/2 acre tract fronting on the Red River, claimed by Giranot (sic) was inhabited and cultivated by Charles Lemoine for about 25 years from this date. Plat represents this claim is on both sides of the Red River and extends across Bayou Brevil (Brevelle) having been purchased by Giranot (sic) from Antoine Rachal. Notes made by the Northwestern Louisiana District Land Office at Natchitoches on 14 Oct 1848. Bayou Brevil (sic) is navigable and (the commissioners) doubt the survey lines of this claim should cross it. B-2126 Pierre Gonzales (Note the French with Spanish name) Deposition of Batist Adly (sic), dated 30 Oct 1812. Lot in the the Town of Natchitoches, fronting the Red (Cane) River. It has been inhabited for 16 years by this claimant and previous to that time by Michael Chagnau (sic). Notice of Claim - 27 Dec 1806. B-2194 Judgement of John C. Carr, Judge of Natchitoches Parish, dated 15 Jun 1810, Writ of fieri facias (seizure of property) issued at the Suit of Francois Bossier, Administrator of the goods of Madame Renaud (sic) augues & sorrel (sic) against the goods and chattel lands and tenements of Bertrand Maillouche (sic) and Marie Francoise Malbert, his wife. Land on Red River at the mouth of Bayou Jean de Jean, bein 8 x 40 french arpents, bounded above by the Village of the Appalache Indians and below by said Bayou. Having purchased by the said Bertrand from Joseph L'Apalache and having reposed the same to public sale, when William Murray became the purchaser on 2 Apr 1810. A-1650 Pierre Joseph Maes (sic) Certification of French Grant by the U.S. Land Commissioners at Natchitoches Land Office for the Northwestern Louisiana District 14 Oct 1858 (Only took 52 years from the first time it was submitted) Patent shows the land was bounded by vacant lands and Bayou Quisaselier (sic). Granted by the French Government to Jacherau St. Denis on 14 Jul 1757 (signed) Kerleract (sic) and Babet (sic). Note by a Land Commissioner named McCol (sic); Probably located in Township 7 North, Range 5 West, opposite of Claim No. B-1651. B-2029 Madam-Widow Fontenot Testimony 22 Jan 1812 Deposition of Francois Durcy (sic). Land on both sides of Red River, held under an Order of Survey in the name of Francois Dubois and having 12 arpents front by the ordinary depth (40 arpents). Land was cultivated first by the Claimant's deceased husband, Louis Fontenot. Their residence bein on an adjacent tract below this one. Durcy believes a Verbal Sale was made by Dubois to Fontenot, but a written receipt was done, when the ownership was transferred to Louis' widow. B-2031 Remy Perrault (sic) Testimony 1811/1812 Deposition of Bertrand Pleasants, 28 Oct 1812. 50.93 acres of land in Natchitoches County was settled at least 20 years ago by John Adley (sic), then sold to Remy Perot (sic). Notice of Claim, dated sometime in 1806 (In French and illegible) Land contains 23 arpents and 59 centime fronting on Red River. (signed) Remy Perot (sic) Deposition of Pierre Tornier (sic), dated 14 Dec 1811. 23.59 arpents of land opposite the Claimant's house and Red River. 455.16 arpents located in a point of land called Potraise or Patience and has been occupied and cultivated since 1801.
