State of Louisiana Parish of Natchitoches, Know all men by these present that I Hardy P. Stroud of the State and Parish afresaid for and in consider of the sum of Nine Hundred and Fifty Dollars to in hand paid, do this day bargain and see and deliver three certain negroes as follers, a woman by the name of Harriett abouth twenty-five years of age, black and her two children, John, four years od, Metilday about one year of age unto Mary Morris for the above consideration of the said Nine Hundred and fifty dollars> I binde myself my heirs and assigns forever to defend the right, title and claim and intrust of the said Negro slaves unto Mary Morris her heirs and assing forever. In witness thereof I have set my hand and seal this 21 of August Ad.D. 1841--H. P. Stroud (seal) Mary Morris, Test. Silas Shelburne, Bradley W. Dean. State of Louisiana Parish of Natchitoches SS Be it remembered that on the 9 day of September A.D. 1841 personally appeard before me W.S.R Spreight Notary Public residing in said parish duly commissioned and sworn etc. the within named H.P. Stroud and Mary Morris to me personally and well known as the same persons described and who executed the written Deed and who and who severally ackknowledged that they executed said deed for the uses and purposes therin mentioned and having examined the same and finding no interlineation or erasures except those therein noted, and in faith of the foregoing have herunto annexed my private seal having no seal of office the day and year last above written. Stroud Bill of Sale to Louisa Owens Know all men by these present that B.W. Stroud of the state of Louisiana and of Natchitoches hath this considered five hundred and ten dollars to me in hand paid this day sold unto Louisa Owens a negro man named Lewis, forty-five years which negro Lwies I have bargained sold and delivered and moreover doth warrant and defend and obtain the right thereof to the said Louisa Owen from me and my assigns forever and every other person or persons whatsoever at sound and sensable and a slave for life agreeable to the law of this which my hand this 7th day of January 1842, Bird W.
