Stroud of the State of Louisiana, Conty of natchitoches hath their consideration five hundred and ten dollars to me in hands paid this day cold unto Louisa Owens, a negro man name Lewis forty-five years which negro Lewis I have bargained sold and delivered and moreover doth warrant and defend ascertain the right thereof to the said Louisa Owens ****m me and my assigns forever and every other person or persons whatsoever all sound ans sensable and a slave for life agreeable to the law of which my hand this 7th day of January 1842.
