Norred, April 2010 No. 7 John Hartman of the Parish of Natchitoches assignee of Ivan Mora filed his notice claiming 640 acres of land situated in the late Neutral Territory between the Rio Hondo and Sabine Rivers being Section No. 33 in Township No. 9 North of Range M9 West. This claim is founded on habitation and cultivation by Ivan Mora on and previous to the 22nd of February 1819 who conveyed his right to the claimant on the 27th day of July 1835. The evidence of John Lum and Henry Carls taken the 22nd of April 1836 states “that Antona Mora settled upon the land in question in the year 1817 and continued to occupy, inhabit and cultivate the same himself and after his death, by his son John Mora to the year 1836 that he resided thereon on the 22nd February 1819, that he has a dwelling house and about eight acres enclosed and planted in corn.” We are of opinion that this claim ought to be confirmed.
