Mr and Mrs JE Levasseur after spending two weeks departed for Benton. Mr and Mrs JW Lestage and baby left for their home on the 7 o'clock train accompanied by their sister, Mrs Mayben of Campti. JE Levasseur and JW Maricelli camped for a week near Black Lake. They had fine success killing ducks and game. JE Levasseur killed a large deer. Thanksgiving day has come and gone away. On that day Mrs JE Levasseur of Benton, La. Celebrated her birthday at the home of her parents, Mr and Mrs Wm. Sr. at Campti. Fourty-two in number were invited being only the families and a few relatives and friends of the Maricellis. A lovely turkey dinner was served with every sweet to add to the celebration. After dinner the jolly crowd gathered for a race for potatoes. The candidates were Messes. Bill Wilson of Coushatta, Robert Prudhomme and John Cox of Gibsland, JW and L Maricelli and Misses Edwina Readhimer, Nettie Gillian and Edna Maricelli. The boy's prize was a cake; the girl's a box of candy. Mr Isadore Maricelli won the cake by obtaining six potatoes. The three girls were tie and ran over for the candy. Miss Edna Maricelli was the lucky kid. The day was very much enjoyed by all who were present. We hope to meet again next Thanksgiving day.
