Lots of pretty eggs were hid and an hour was spent in search of the largest number. Among those who wittnessed the fun were Messrs. F Levasseur and Ambrose Tauzin of Natchitoches, Messrs. WO Breazeale, WW Averette of Campti, Misses Leta Perot and Mable Fleming of the L.S.N. school, Mrs. Cora Mayben of Campti Mr. and Mrs. JE Levasseur of Shreveport and Mr and Mrs R Landreaux of Clarence. Each one departed after having a pleasant evening. "Rags" ============================================================================ BAYOU BOURBEAUX NEWS - APRIL 28, 1911 The Natchitoches Times Much to our surprise a 40 hrs rain instead of 40 days of rain kept a lot of ambicious people in door. Our little community is very much eaved to learn that our Pastor Rev. Father Dorval of Campti has left for Kansas. The old saying is, "The good must pay for the bad," well there's a day coming when all wrongs are righted. Mr and Mrs W A Grappe, Miss Julie Lestage and Mrs W Lestage and family enjoyed a few hours out on Clear Lake visiting Mr and Mrs H O Lestage. On their way home they were caught in the rain. Little James Dewitt Lestage has been on the sick list this week. Best wishes from, "Ned" ====================================================================== BAYOU BOURBEAUX NEWS - MAY 12, 1911 Natchitoches Times After a week of pleasure Misses Edna and Maude Maricelli returned from Natchitoches accompanied by Misses Blanche Breda and Billyoh Taxon. Mrs. Cora Maybe of Campti, Mrs. Julian Laundries of Shreveport and little daughter were pleasant callers to Mrs Wm Maricelli Sr on Sunday. A number of young people with little Men Maricelli came to enjoy a house party from Friday to Monday at her mother's home. Mr Joe Maricelli spent Sunday in Natchitoches and was accompanied home by Mr Amorose Taxon. Mr Smith of Black Lake town was a visitor in our town Sunday. Mrs. Wm Maricelli Jr. spent Saturday and Sunday in Coushatta. A jolly crowd enjoyed a trip to Creston Sunday and on their way visited the Camps near by. Mr LH Tessier who is guarding the Camps visited his family in Natchitoches Sunday. Some one bing disappointed in the crowd, her companions cheered her by singing to the tune (Chorus) of Meet me tonight in Dreamladd..these words "Meet me today in Black Lake Down by the convicts cam;, Don't disappoint me "Dearie" I will be there at four, Come with a box of candy Come with enough for two, meet me at Black Lake. Down by the bridge side Near by the Convicts' Camp." ========================================================================= BAYOU BOURBEAUX NEWS - JUNE 23, 1911 Natchitoches Times Hot air is the latest cry here, every thing and everybody is finding the shadiest spot to fell natural again. "The Lord's will be done." Quite a crowd from Maricelli's home enjoyed the annual opera at Natchitoches on Tuesday night honor to the Sisters of Divine Providence. Invitations have been received to the marriage of Mr Frank J Maricelli and Miss Myrtle Lena Rambin of Frierson, La June 25th. Mr Maricelli is one of our old boys. An old time serenade was enjoyed at the home of Mr and Mrs Wm Maricelli Sr on Sunday night the noted musician, Mr Van Castor of Coushatta with Messrs Hyams Greggs, Merchante and Barberouse of Campti beautiful music was rendered with piano accompaniment by Misses Maude and Mena Maricelli. After late hours refreshment were enjoyed. Among the visitors in our neighborhood were Messrs A Lestage and L H Tessier, Misses Daisy and Ernestine Tessier of Natchitoches and Mr ZC Smith of Creston. Mr Charlie Gallen and sister spent Sunday in Natchitoches. Mr. Isadore Maricelli and JP McTyre spent Sunday in Clarence. Misses Edna and Maude Maricelli paid Natchitoches a short visit shopping and having dental work done. June is a lucky month for newly weds. Quite a wind storm took place of a needed rain here. ========================================================================== BAYOU BOURBEAUX NEWS - JUNE 30, 1911 Natchitoches Times Messars. Bishop and Goode of Campti spent a few hours in our little village treating their friends to a very pleasant ride in the automobile. Come again Sirs, our roads are navigable as well as model. Mr Wm Maricelli Sr has returned Monday from a very pleasant visit to Bayou La Chute and Frierson, where he attended the Maricelli-Rambin wedding. He was accompanied by his two daughters Edna and Maude who will remain for a month visiting friends at Frierson and Shreveport. They accepted an invitation to graduating exercises of the TE Schumpert Memorial training school for nurses one of our old chums Miss Ellen Chilers has finished. A jolly crowd namely, Messrs Ed Crawford, Gillen, Barberouse and Maricellis serenaded Natchitoches, Saturday night and early in A.M. of Sunday were rewarded with cake and refreshments by those who appreciated their music. Keep up a good thing boys. Laugh and the world laughs with you. The ice man is greeted by everyone these holidays. ===========================================================================
