All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** POWHATAN - JUNE 23 1911 The marriage of Mrs. Alice Burnside of this place and Mr. J C Glewer of Bienville was celebrated Wednesday afternoon the 14th instant at 7:30 in Natchitoches at the rectory by Rev. Father Piegay. The bride was handsomely gowned in gray chiffon over silk and looked very sweet. The groom is a prominent planter of Bienville Parish. After the ceremony the couple left for their home at Friendship, La. Miss Pearl Midyett after a week's sojurn with her friend, Mrs D F Stephenson, left for home at Midyett, Texas. Five car-loads of cattle were shipped from this Station during the past week by Messrs Walker and Coates to New Orleans and Texas. Hon WF Cunningham of Natchitoches spent Monday here looking after his interest. Miss Ida Hart is the guests of friends at Grappes Bluff. E L Levasseur of Shreveport was in town a few days during the week.
